Premier League Picks

Sau-sa-ges (Joe Namath voice),

Due to a glitch in the system, I have received Internet access at work. This is truly a special occasion and I will take advantage of this opportunity to make my picks for the upcoming Premier League weekend. There were no picks last weekend due to International Break. Last time I made picks, I made a meal of it more than a Brooks Conrad groundball (too soon). Anyone who lost money (I doubt it) by making their bets based on my predictions can tuck themselves in; This is the same person that guaranteed Michigan would win at work last weekend. The matches this weekend aren't as good as they were a few weekends back, but we still should have some interesting matchups this weekend.

Record: 1-9

Saturday:

Arsenal v. Birmingham City
Arsenal will finally win a match. After back-to-back weekends defeats, a shock loss at home to WBA and away to Chelsea, Arsenal will finally get some players coming back and get a W at the Emirates.
Pick: Arsenal

Bolton v. Stoke City
Two very physical sides but I see the visitors Stoke City getting the points here.
Pick: Stoke City

Fulham v. Tottenham
I have this match circled because USAs Clint Dempsey plays for Fulham and I despise Tottenham. Fulham at Craven Cottage are hard to beat.
Pick: Fulham

Man Utd v. WBA
Man Utd will struggle and with Rooney being off-form and a resilient WBA.
Pick: Draw

Newcastle v. Wigan
A match at St. James' Park is always an occasion but there will be no winner here.
Pick: Draw

Wolves v. West Ham
Wolves are the dirtiest team on the planet. They call it physical but something needs to be done when opponent's legs are being broken each week.
Pick: Draw

Aston Villa v. Chelsea
Chelsea got back to their winning ways a few weekends back at home v. Arsenal and I expect that to continue with their trip to Villa Park.
Pick: Chelsea

Sunday:

Everton v. Liverpool (Match of the Week)
This is only Match of the Week because it's the Merseyside Derby. Also called "The Friendly Derby" because families are divided between Everton and Liverpool supporters. With the match being at Goodison Park and Everton getting a win last EPL weekend, I think they will take all three points this week.
Pick: Everton

Blackpool v. Manchester City
If there is one thing Blackpool can do, its give up goals. They have given up a league-high 15 goals this season. While I expect them to lose, they won't give up six this time around, again.
Pick: Manchester City

Late Addition: Monday:
Blackburn v. Sunderland
Pick: Meh. I forgot all about this one. So it'll be a draw.

Well, that's that. Happy Fall Break to those at X. Have a Kenny Powers-esque weekend.

- KA
